Towner Gardens School
At MINDS Towner Gardens School (TGS), we create a vibrant and inclusive environment where children with intellectual disability (ID) and autism spectrum disorder (ASD) can grow and thrive. The school is a place where excitement meets learning, offering an array of engaging activities and experiences. From sporting events, community outings and healthy-living programmes to hands-on lessons across literacy, numeracy and digital literacy, our programmes are designed to ensure that children not only grow academically but also develop essential life skills for the future.
TGS isn’t just a school—it’s a vibrant community where every child's individual strengths are at the heart of everything we do.

Signature Programmes
Career Day
TGS prepares students for life beyond the classroom. During Career Day, community partners and parents set up interactive booths to showcase job prospects across various industries. This helps students explore future careers and gain a practical understanding of different vocations.
Structured Play
Designed for Junior-level students, especially those with autism, Structured Play promotes social interaction and communication through guided, goal-oriented activities. With clear, step-by-step instructions, students develop skills like imitating actions, sharing, and responding to peers.
Person-Centred Planning – Family Envisioning Meeting (FEM)
Since 2023, FEM has provided a collaborative platform for families to share their aspirations for their children. This dialogue shapes more holistic Individual Transition Plans, strengthens the school-family partnership and ensures that students’ future pathways are guided by their own goals toward independence and confidence.

Success Stories
Syed Anis Bin Syed Mohd Alsagoff
Anis, diagnosed with ASD, has made remarkable progress in managing emotions and developing social skills. He now expresses unhappiness using words like “No” or “I don’t want”, and demonstrates improved eye contact, turn-taking and understanding of gestures and facial expressions. Anis is able to use appropriate greetings with a handshake or “hello”, make polite requests using “please” and “thank you”, apologise when needed, and wait patiently during group activities. He also follows school routines independently with minimal prompts.
Charlene Tan Si Jia (Graduated in 2024)
Charlene’s bubbly personality and passion for the arts shone through her active participation in Music and Movement, where she performed dance and cajon at school and public events. Her determination carried over to the school’s Vocational Experience Programme, where she excelled in training courses and work attachments at Burger King and Sephora. Her dream of joining Sephora came true upon graduation and she now proudly works at one of their retail branches.
Sage Chua
Sage’s love for swimming keeps him fit and focused, while his bubbly spirit and consistency drive his success. Training up to 6 times a week, rain or shine, he has proudly represented TGS in major competitions such as the National Inter-School Para Swimming Championships organised by the Singapore Disability Sports Council, where he won multiple gold medals and the Best Performing School Challenge Trophy for Under-13s. In 2025, he brought further honour to the school by winning the Challenge Trophy and 3 gold medals at the Special Olympics Singapore National Games.
