FAQs for Volunteers

Volunteers befriend and support individuals with IDD—participating in activities, offering companionship and ensuring a safe, fun environment where they can thrive. If you are interested in taking on greater responsibilities, you can also help to plan activities or take on additional roles such as managing the budget and marketing for MYG.

No prior experience is necessary. We provide training and guidance, and welcome anyone who is passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of persons with IDD.

We are seeking volunteers who are able to commit one session per week for at least 6 months. This consistency helps to build meaningful and lasting relationships.

After signing up, you’ll be invited to a virtual Volunteer Orientation. You can then register for activities via a shared link, with additional briefings provided on the day of the activity.
