Overview

MINDS MYG’s direct services comprise of eleven project groups that provide weekly three-hour social, recreational, and training activities for approximately 200 beneficiaries on either Saturdays or Sundays. Each project group serves beneficiaries of different age groups and functions.

MINDS MYG Sessions

Our sessions are usually structured as per the framework shown below.
1. Sing-along
A sing-along cum dance-along session where beneficiaries start warming up and enjoy themselves to the tune of the harmonious music.
2. Curriculum Development Training
Beneficiaries undergo a planned, structured curriculum where they pick up necessary life skills. Activities may include and are not limited to:

• Identifying numbers and colours


• Money concept

• Reinforcing the theme/concept of key values

• Strengthening of social & communication skills

• Art & Craft

Special training programmes may be specifically customised for select beneficiaries if deemed necessary.
3. Physical & Recreational Training
Physical and recreational activities are planned for beneficiaries to encourage them to exercise on a regular basis, and to allow them to hone their motor skills. Examples of physical activities may include:

•Various sports & games


•Aerobics/ Kpop/ Zumba/ Yoga

•Physical exercises
4. Tea Break
A light snack or treat is prepared for our beneficiaries to reward them for their efforts and hard work during the respective physical training.
5. Events and Outings
Apart from the regular volunteering sessions, annual camps as well as outings are regularly organised to allow beneficiaries to visit site attractions and to have a day of fun.
