MINDS’ 6th Training & Development Centres (JTDC) offers services that cater to the needs of adults (19 years old and above) with intellectual disability. We focus on programmes that allow the adult client to acquire and gain greater independence in daily living skills such as personal grooming & hygiene, toileting, social functioning, work readiness skills, domestic skills, and adaptive behaviours.
The core focus of our service is to promote social integration into communities, so as to enable them to lead a meaningfully engaged life. Our Training Officers work closely with a multidisciplinary team of allied health professionals to regulate behaviours and improve independent living skills, promoting inclusion by society.
At JTDC, we believe every client deserves a champion – an adult who will never give up on them, who understands the power of connection and insists that they become the best they can possibly be. We look beyond their disabilities, focus on their capabilities, and work hard to expand the possibilities.
At MINDS JTDC, clients learn a variety of skills which are categorised under various Domains of Learning:
The facilities at MINDS JTDC are carefully designed to meet the training needs of our clients and support them in the learning of daily living skills, home living skills, and pre-vocational skills.
