Training & Development Centre

Warmest Greetings from MINDS-Faber Training & Development Centre (FTDC)!

FTDC is MINDS’ 8th Training & Development Centre (TDC), and the third TDC in the Western part of Singapore. Our centre was set up on 1st November 2017 and was officially opened on 11th May 2018. Situated in a residential area with good facilities such as a playground, exercise corner and coffee shop, we have been able to expose our clients and participate in the community.

With a capacity of 44 clients, FTDC is currently serving 37 adults with intellectual disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Among these, 24 clients are attending the full-time programme, while thirteen are on the part-time programme.

Our Centre’s programmes embrace every individual’s unique personality and cultivate their interests through our comprehensive curriculum. With a focus on developing their independent living skills, the curriculum builds on the foundation that our clients have established in their formative years. Our multi-disciplinary team of Allied Health Professionals provide physiotherapy, occupational therapy and behaviour & psychological interventions to meet each client’s unique needs. Our emphasis on taking a person-centred approach encourages every individual to pursue their activities and interests of choice.

Caregivers have been strong partners in ensuring that our clients’ training programmes are being carried out at home. They are also encouraged to participate in our centre’s support initiatives, which encourage bonding among the caregivers by sharing their experiences.

Our strong partnerships with corporate entities and passionate individuals, who are driven to make a difference, have also enabled us to create memorable experiences for our clients. Many of our dedicated and committed volunteers ranging from individuals to various companies and uniform groups, as well as students from tertiary, secondary, and primary levels. They have been supporting us in this journey to bring happiness to our clients, guiding and nurturing them to maximise their potential. We believe in the “many helping hands” approach in supporting our clients and their caregivers.

We would like you to explore our webpage to get to know us better, and do join us in this exciting journey!
