Warmest welcome to MINDS - Idea Employment Development Centre (IEDC)!
At IEDC, we embrace individuality and uniqueness of every individual, casting our magic and turning their unique traits into strengths! We are focused in providing training for adults with intellectual disabilities on vocational and independent living skills. Our desire is to empower and enable our trainees to maximise their potential, lead meaningful and independent lives and to fulfil their aspirations! We believe that everyone has the potential and the right to lead a meaningful life.
A variety of vocational and independent living skills programmes are being offered in IEDC. Our people can express their interest and be assessed to participate in one of the many programmes we have, at any one time. Of the many, one of our newest and thriving programmes is MINDS Farm, at which our people learn to grow, harvest, and sell pesticide-free edible crops such as Pea Sprouts, Lettuce, Chye Sim.
Other programmes we have are MINDS Craft, MINDS Bakers - where our adults learn to roast nuts and prepare/package them to be sold as gifts/favours, MINDS Food – our people get hands-on work experience in the F&B trade, MINDS Clean - where we train up a team of cleaning crew. Some of them are even selected to undergo WSQ courses. We also facilitate a Supported Employment Programme – where our people learn a variety of skills necessary to carry out packing contract works.
For leisure and life, we organise various sports activities and healthy lifestyle programs. This includes incorporating daily exercises and diet management lessons, festive celebrations, annual camps, and also participating actively in national events such as Purple Parade, Sports Competitions, and many more!
Through these programmes, not only did they manage to acquire vocational skills, our trainees also picked up other essential life skills such as sense of responsibility, patience, working with others, love, and confidence. These great programmes are supported by our team of dedicated and committed care professionals as well as Allied Health Professionals consisting of Psychologists, Occupational Therapists and Social Workers.
We’d love that you explore our webpage and know more about us. We hope that you will join us to be part of the magic!
Yours Sincerely,
