In 2010, I joined MINDS as a Psychologist. Being at the forefront was an exciting and fulfilling experience as I worked closely with individuals with intellectual disability to help them overcome their challenges. However, after six years, the inception of the MINDS Institute of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (MIIDD), provided an opportunity in the form of a new role. Stella Leong, former engineer, embarked on a new career path as a Training Officer with MINDS, with the objective of providing a better quality of life for individuals with special needs. Through training in Foundation in Autism Studies, she now teaches MINDS clients how to perform Activities of Daily Living and to integrate with society.
