The old days ...
The 3 centres (Geylang, Toa Payoh and Tampines Centres) amalgamated together in July 1984 to become Towner Gardens School.
Towner Gardens School was first officially opened on 27 April 1985 by the late Dr. Tay Eng Soon . At that time, we were located along Towner Road.
And Now ...
In December 1997, we moved into our new premise in Kembangan and became the first purpose-built special education school in Singapore.
The new building's official opening was graced by Dr. Aline Wong, then Senior Minister State Education and Health, on 23 September 1998.
Our school grounds encompass an area of 0.84 square hectares. The building features built-in facilities like a lift, ramps and broad walkways which makes it accessible to wheelchair bound person.
A number of specialty rooms cater for subject areas like Housecraft, Computer, Skills Training and Pre-vocational Skills Development and others such as the physiotherapy room and occupational therapy room.
