GGS celebrated the nation's 43rd birthday on 7 August 2008. It was a joyous and significant event which includes a quiz competition, Art contest and cake cutting ceremony. |
Students from the Junior level visited Ngee Ann Primary School (NAPS) to join in their Racial Harmony Day celebration. This is also to promote integration between mainstram and special schools. The students visited the exhibition booths of various ethnic cultures manned by parent volunteers of NAPS. GGS students also had the opportunity to take part in the craft work activities in the classrooms. |

17 students from S4A carried out a beach cleaning project with Paya Lebar Airbase Personnel at East Coast Parkway on 1 August 2008. This is part of the school's Community Involvement Programme (CIP) and the objective is to instill a sense of responsibility towards the environment for the students. |

As part of NIE training for the Group Endeavour Service Learning Project, 25 mainstream trainee teachers conducted a 2 day-1 night camp in the school for 20 GGS students. The camp highlights include a visit to the 4D Magix show in Sentosa and a night barbeque in the school hall. |

| GGS is honoured to perform at Parkway Parade for the Singapore Youth Festival (SYF) in the Heartlands (East Zone). 5 students perform a fantastic item titled "Rhythm and Percussion". The students were also privilege to have their photo taken with the Guest-of-Honour, Dr ong Seh Hong, MP for Marine Parade GRC. |

| 28 students and their caregivers were invited to the annual Paya Lebar Airbase Runway Cycling on 26 May 2008. They had a chance to view the static display of the Black Knights F-16 Jets and Apache Combat Helicopter. |
