Legal Network
Our adult trainees who are intellectually challenged often demonstrate behavioural issues though they can perform efficently in their daily work performance.
Some of our trainees have been involved in common offences such as
- Outrage of Modesty / Sexual Offences
- Shoplifting
- Arson
- Killer-litter
To support our trainees and families, a Legal Network was established in 2001.
Purpose of Legal Clinic
- To review legal issues/problems faced by our intellectually challenged trainees
- To provide advice and support for both trainees and families faced with legal challenges
- To review the existing legal processes and procedures to improve the legal system for the persons with intellectually disability
Services are offered via a Legal Clinic monthly, where families and trainees consult a lawyer to seek advice on their legal issues.
Families have benefited with advices given on the following matters:
- Wills & Asset Distribution
- Transfer of Funds
- Transfer of Flat
- Family Issues
- Offences committed
