We provide a workshop setting to enable our clients to acquire vocational and productivity skills with the guidance of our training officers.
Clients are involved in preparation and serving of lunch. They also perform the standard housekeeping of the canteen to ensure a clean and conducive eating environment.
Minds Craft is an Arts & Craft project launched in January 1997. Clients produce handicraft items for sale. This project also enriches their experiences in art.
Clients in the center undergo an in-house and external training programmes through which they acquire skills necessary for janitorial jobs and gardening work. They also help to maintain a clean and green working environment.
Clients learn to serve customers and arrange sale items in the thrift shop.
The dance and drum performance group was formed in 1997 with the objectives to enhance clients' talent in music and movement, to build confidence in public performance and to create public awareness. Our in-house trainer and volunteers train the clients. Our clients have received numerous invitations to perform for many functions locally and overseas. To name a few:
SIA-MINDS EDC has participated in annual sporting activities organized by various organizations such as Special Olympics and Singapore Disability Sports Council. We have conducted regular sports training for competitions such as swimming, track & field, bowling, floor hockey, unified soccer and various disabilities games. Some of our clients have been selected by Special Olympics to represent Singapore for overseas competitions. We have also achieved many national records in various sports . SIA-MINDS EDC always believes in creating opportunities for clients to excel in sports.
We also have Annual Camps and Trainees' party, Festive celebrations, outings and factory visits to enhance our clients' social interaction.
As part of our efforts to integrate our trainees into mainstream community, we embarked on building closer relations with neighboring institutions.
