Head of Centre

Key Responsibilities

  1. Programme Management & Development
    • Visualize, conceptualize, plan and implement management goals and objectives for the overall development of the Centre
    • Continuously develop and evaluate programmes and services provided by the Centre benchmarking against the best practices
    • Develop community involvement activities and work closely with corporate organizations, mainstream schools and other VWOs to promote clients’ social integration
    • Network proactively with various agencies and corporations for support, resources and fund raising activities for the development of the Centre and the clients
    • Implement staff development programmes (e.g. Training, mentoring, coaching, supervision and contact time with staff)
    • Work closely with the Allied Health Professionals in the admission and management of clients
    • Participate, contribute, organize special projects, paper presentations etc. relating to the operational and administrative development of the Centre in support of the vision and directions of MINDS
    • To chair the monthly clients’ case review meetings and admission screening interviews
  2. Administrative & Operations
    • Oversee the efficient day to day running of the Centre
    • To chair monthly staff meeting
    • Provide timely and accurate reports of the Centre’s outcomes, clients’ muster, monthly reports etc. to MINDS Management and the relevant authorities
    • Maintain high standard of professional conduct of staff
    • Conduct annual staff appraisal
    • Provide leadership through the development and maintenance of a strong work ethic with a collaborative team approach culture
    • To keep abreast of local and international developments pertaining to issues relating to clients, staff and programme advancements
  3. Financial, Inventory & Facility Management
    • Prepare and monitor the Centre’s annual budget
    • Oversee all money matters such as Centre’s petty cash, donations, fees collection are managed in accordance to MINDS Accounting Standard Operating Procedures
    • Oversee the inventory management of the Centre
    • Building and estate management
  4. Any other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Min. Degree in any discipline. Certified training in Special Education, Disability Studies.
  • At least 3 years relevant experience in middle management.
  • Confident and effective communicator with good interpersonal skills

Training Officer / Assistant Training Officer

Responsibilities

  • Train, supervise, maintain and develop the functional skills of clients in the areas of activities for daily living, vocational, community living, social and recreational participation.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with allied health professionals and families in the implementation of training programmes for the clients.
  • Engage in volunteer/ fundraising activities to raise public awareness of persons with intellectual disability.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for smooth running of day-to-day administrative operation of the school.

Community Facilitator

Responsibilities

  • Care of Residents:
    • Supervise, expose and train residents in area of independent living skills, leisure & recreational and career advancement.
    • Prepare residents for their various activities, meal times and bed times.
    • Keep and ensure the proper records of residents (e.g. pocket money disbursements, behaviour records, daily logs, home leave records, etc).
    • Ensure that residents diet restrictions are adhered to.
  • Training of Residents:
    • Plan and implement programs/activities for the residents in consultation with other staff.

Responsibilities

  • Follows treatment procedures under supervision of the Physiotherapist.
